Teledentistry

What is Teledentistry?

Keeping our patients and staff safe during the coronavirus outbreak is important to us and reducing the risk involved in coming into the office is a priority for our practice. We are excited to be able to add teledentistry evaluations as another way to care for our patients even under challenging circumstances. Patients in need of evaluation can do so virtually! Teledentistry evaluations are usually covered by most insurance the same as an in-person appointment, reimbursement varies with insurance companies.

Is a Teledentistry appointment right for me?

Teledentistry appointments are available for patients in need of an evaluation for a tooth to be extracted, including wisdom teeth, as well as oral pathology/biopsy evaluations. We will acquire an x-ray and if one is not available we will request it from your dentist, or take the x-ray at the first in-office appointment.

What is a Teledentistry appointment?

A real-time video conference between our surgeon and the patient and guardian, without having to physically visit the office. It provides an opportunity for a full review of health history, collect clinical information by reviewing the x-ray, education on the procedure, treatment options, anesthesia and after-care. Your doctor will develop a personalized treatment plan and answer questions you may have about future appointments. Much of an evaluation involves a discussion and education. Much of the clinical evaluation comes from reviewing the x-ray so doing this digitally is extremely productive.

After the video conference we will discuss finding an ideal appointment time for the surgery, you will receive an estimate for any treatment needed, as well as pre-op instructions.
