We take pride in the way we treat our patients. We explore every opportunity to prepare you for the procedure by providing information on what to expect. Your questions are encouraged and answered. We plan in advance for our patient’s pre- and post-operative comfort with a thorough and comprehensive medical evaluation.
We use many types of anesthetic agents in our office procedures. You may choose to be anesthetized, but the doctor makes the final decision based on your medical history and the procedure to be done.
To prepare for a surgical appointment, fill any prescriptions received during the evaluation prior to the surgical appointment.
For local anesthesia (numbing medication) or nitrous oxide (laughing gas) patients:
- On the day of the procedure, there are no strict dietary limitations. Feel free to enjoy a light meal before the appointment. You may want to avoid dairy products when having nitrous oxide.
For IV Sedation Patients:
- A reliable adult must accompany the patient to the appointment and remain in our office during the procedure. After escorting the patient home, it is suggested that an adult remains with them throughout the day.
- Do not eat or drink anything including water, for 7-8 hours before the appointment if having IV Anesthesia (this does not apply to local anesthesia or nitrous oxide).
- Wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing on the day of surgery so that we can easily place monitoring devices (short sleeve shirts are helpful).
